Windows Phone 7 Series Won't Have Multitasking or Memory Card Support
In a recent interview, a Microsoft executive revealed the Windows Phone 7 platform will not offer multitasking with third-party apps, won't support user-replaceable memory cards, and will require all apps to be installed through the Windows Phone Marketplace. This is definitely not the news most of us wanted to hear. So why is Microsoft doing this you may ask? The company says it needs to exercise additional control over the platform in order to provide a great set of consumer experiences.
Even though third-party apps won't able to run in the background, they will have access to a range of services. For example, Pandora could stream in the background using a background music service.

Samsung Announces eReader With Outlook Sync Capabilities

Samsung recently announced that its eReader will soon be available for U.S. customers. The new eReader not only lets you read books, magazines, etc on the 6-inch display, but it also has the ability to synchronize the built-in scheduler with your Outlook calendar. This eReader sounds like a pretty cool device, especially since it has text-to-speech which can read eBooks to you, Wi-Fi, a built-in MP3 player, and a stylus pen that lets you make notes one pages.
With its features, this eReader could feasibly be a good substitute for a PDA. I wonder, though, would you trade a smaller PDA for a larger display and a slightly more cumbersome device?
